VIRTUAL REALITY

From the Oculus’ first integration of infrared cameras and LEDs to Valve’s Lighthouse laser tracking solution, virtual reality is the world’s playground and reason for new and innovative technologies, many of which concern motion tracking. NANSENSE is actively involved in many virtual reality projects and integrated with all commercially available VR products such as headsets, controllers and positional trackers. Here are four reasons why we absolutely love VR.

1. A NEW MARKET

Virtual reality is quickly becoming a new market that requires new and very high-end character animation. NANSENSE develops content and commercializes hardware systems that allow content creators to develop highly accurate character animations very quickly.

3. NEW INPUT TECHNOLOGIES

NANSENSE gloves can be used as virtual reality controllers. They allow users to see their hands in virtual reality and to manipulate objects with a high level of accuracy. As we push forward to integrate our gloves with haptic sensors, we are very interested in the potential of a complete virtual reality glove solution.

2. NEW TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

Ever since the HTC Vive was announced to ship with Lighthouse, NANSENSE dedicated time to integrating the laser trackers with the inertial systems, thus creating a hybrid. By default, all NANSENSE systems ship with an integrated Lighthouse plug-in that allows users to do hybrid motion capture.

4. A DEEPER SENSE OF PRESENCE                                         NANSENSE full-body and hand tracking systems are already integrated with virtual reality headsets. This approach gives virtual reality players an unmatched sense of immersion as they observe the one-to-one mapping of their body, or the body of others, in virtual space.

Absolute HTC Vive Tracked Nansense Inertial Suits and Gloves

Absolute Tracking Available for Nansense Inertial Suits and Gloves!

With the upcoming release of our new hardware and software, NANSENSE focuses on integrating the new VIVE trackers for positional tracking of the back, hands and/or feet. This was made possible by HTC granting us early access and support for the new hardware.

MOTION CAPTURE

We provide on-site performance capture services at your location. Our engineer will work with you from start to finish to set up the system, train the actor and ensure that the data is perfect throughout the capture.

SYSTEMS RENTAL

Systems rental is a cost-efficient alternative to buying a system, especially for those interested in a one-time capture. It requires a basic understanding of motion capture. Trainings are included with each system.

MOTION CAPTURE

We provide on-site performance capture services at your location. Our engineer will work with you from start to finish to set up the system, train the actor and ensure that the data is perfect throughout the capture.

ON-SITE TRAINING

On-site training is primarily for new clients and those entirely new to motion capture, to familiarize them with the field of motion capture and, more specifically, NANSENSE technologies.

HIGH-RES FINGERS

We offer on-site finger capture for Vicon and Optitrak systems where we supervise the capture session to ensure that all data produced by our gloves is production-ready and synchronized.

DATA CLEANING

We offer data-cleaning services to fix broken data, retarget motion to characters and even post-process character animations.
